On Monday Planned Parenthood announced it will no longer accept federal funds for family planning for low-income patients known as Title X. Their decision comes on the heels of the Trump administration’s new rule that forbids Title X funds to be allocated to any healthcare provider that performs, refers or mentions abortion.
Abortion Access Front (AAF) stands with Planned Parenthood and other clinics who have decided to forgo Title X funding so that they may continue to provide comprehensive healthcare for their patients. We condemn this horrific new rule, which is just another bullshit tactic that weaponizes Title X and forces Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers out of business while leaving millions of our most vulnerable Americans without comprehensive reproductive care. As an organization that uses humor to advocate for abortion access, there’s nothing funny about leaving people without any healthcare options. The clowns in our current administration are making a circus out of reproductive freedom turning provider access into tightrope walks not accessible to most people. This isn’t health care policy. This is bullying and we recognize it with an official, unapologetic middle finger.
