A proposed Texas law that would make it illegal for men to masturbate is rubbing some people the wrong way. And even though the bill is obviously just a way to disseminate information, some guys aren’t handling it well.
Texas state representative Jessica Farrar introduced a bill that would levy a $100 fine on men who have “unregulated masturbatory emissions” made “outside of a vagina or medical facility.” The legislation also requires mandatory rectal exams for guys who want a Viagra prescription. And health care professionals are allowed to “invoke personal, moralistic, or religious beliefs” on the guy seeking the boner pills.
Now, nobody is seriously suggesting that the men of Texas be prevented from messing with themselves. The proposed law is meant to draw attention to absurd anti-abortion measures in Texas and other states. All over the country, women are routinely forced to undergo things like pointless trans-vaginal ultrasound or mandatory lectures in order to access their abortion rights.
These cock-mocking laws are just a way of turning the exam tables on the hypocritical male legislators who are often behind the laws that harass women. Not to beat this thing too hard, but these anti-masturbation laws are popping up all over the country. Lawmakers with a sense of humor have proposed outlawing semen deposits anywhere but a vagina, mandatory psychological counseling before getting Viagra, and granting personhood rights to sperm.
We at Lady Parts have been spewing this kind of stuff since we first came on the scene. Get a load of our classic “I Regret My Masturbation” video series.
As Rep. Farrar said “A lot of response I've gotten from the public is that they didn't realize women were subjected to those sorts of things. …most people don't watch every act of the Texas legislature, or their own legislatures, so these are things that I thought were important to bring to light.”
In other words, we make light of things to shed light on things. You can’t beat that!
