Yesterday we SHOWED UP in Washington Square to show the Supreme Court what free speech ACTUALLY looks like. Free speech isn’t making your name sound eerily similar to an abortion clinic next door and then standing outside your fake clinic so that they’ll think you’re the real clinic. Free speech isn’t lying to people about the side effects of abortion, scaring them into thinking they’ll die. Free speech isn’t you can wear a lab count and that’s technically not impersonating a doctor (that’d be against the law, right JUSTICE THOMAS) if you don’t specifically say you’re a doctor but also you’re wearing the coat and giving an ultrasound so like… what is the patient supposed to assume. NO NO NO, we know the fetalists stop at “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…” and then dance on the graves of all the women who’ve died from botched abortion, but it actually goes on to say “ or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
So that’s what we did, peaceably assemble on Washington Square to call out FAKE CLINICS. To crowds of people we reenacted exactly what goes on at fake clinics, how they scare, how they trick, and how they LIE (we’re not afraid to say it, NYTIMES). Yesterday was a huge lose (for so many things) but we instantly sprang into action and taught a lot of people who didn’t know fake clinics existed that they even ARE AROUND IN NEW YORK CITY. Honestly, they’re best weapon is that people don’t know about them, or think they’re an insidious problem somewhere else, so the BEST thing you can do is CALL THEM OUT, LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY EXIST. Google “abortion” and see if the first place that pops up in your area… doesn’t really seem like a place that offers abortion. And then gather people in your area for “review-a-thons.” We’ve got all the info over on www.exposefakeclinics.com. Leave reviews, be honest but make sure to say, “they do not provide abortions here,” don’t let these places sneak around, unassuming, anymore, call them out so that EVERYONE knows the name of the fake clinic in your town.
If the Supreme Court doesn’t want to protect vulnerable pregnant people because it thinks the fake clinic’s right to never have to say the word abortion (or really, just right it) OUTWEIGHS a pregnant and scared 16-year-old’s right to not be deceived by a business, well.. THEN YOU HAVE TO PROTECT THAT PERSON. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IN YOUR TOWN KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THE NAMES OF ALL THE FAKE CLINICS ARE!
