Well, here in Captain Obvious Monday, a new study finds that 95% of people who get abortions DON’T REGRET IT. This study is groundbreaking… in terms of giving us the information we all knew for years!

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco followed up with people who had had abortions for five years after the initial abortion. And GUESS WHAT they found that the most common emotion they experienced was RELIEF at being able to receive an abortion.

“Our findings challenge the rationale for state-mandated counseling protocols on post-abortion emotions and other policies regulating access to abortion premised on emotional harm claims (e.g. waiting periods).” OH IF ONLY! IF ONLY IT WAS THAT SIMPLE!

And also those who DID feel negative at first, often contributed their negative emotion to SOCIETAL PRESSURE. So it’s that anti-abortion people CREATE the problem and then say they’re TRYING TO HELP the problem.

That’s why it remains complete garbage that Justice Kennedy said,“while we find no reliable data to measure the phenomenon, it seems unexceptionable to conclude some women come to regret their choice.” There is NOOOO shortage of things men want women to feel bad about!

Here’s another reminder that laws that are like “let’s just put a lil obstacle in there for the patient so that she might HAVE A CHANCE to reconsider” or that are like “certainly any REAL human being who saw an ULTRASOUND wouldn’t get an abortion” are so fucking obviously patronizing that… they shouldn’t even be entertained. Look at what this study shows: people can make their own decisions.

What a concept!
