It redefines any fertilized eggs as human embryos, and birth control as “abortifacients.” It would equate abortion to homicide and rack up 30 years in prison for the “offender.” Rape and incest exceptions? Gone. Access for minors without parental notification? See ya. Anti-abortion groups are panicking not because they care about patients, but because this bill blows up their whole “We just want to help women!!!!” routine. And while they’re trying to kill it, they’re also pushing their own barely-less-awful ban—because in South Carolina, extremism is apparently a competitive sport. Link in bio.

The bill is less about the safety of mifepristone and more about getting rid of a piece of bodily autonomy that actually works and doesn’t require taking PTO just to exercise a constitutional right. If they get their way, every patient has to haul themselves to one of 13 clinics, because nothing heals the soul like lawmakers deciding your uterus needs a commute. 🧪Same Fake Science, Different Day The sponsors say it’s about “dangerous meds,” but funny how the only drug they’re pearl-clutching over is mifepristone. Their proof? Anti-abortion goons brought that one, debunked junk study to the party like “look, science!!!” while actual doctors are standing there with decades of data wondering if everyone in the statehouse forgot how reading works. ⛔Ohio Voted. Lawmakers Said “Love That For You, But No.” Ohioans wrote abortion rights into the constitution, and lawmakers still came back like “Aw, cute how you think democracy is real.” When they can’t overturn the vote, they just slip in new barriers and hope no one notices—because respecting the will of the people is apparently the one medical intervention they truly oppose. Last week, the ACLU dropped a lawsuit on the FDA, demanding records about the agency’s review of the abobo pill, mifepristone. Shocker: the FDA is on 👻mode. 🕵What Are They Looking For? Remember that fake ass “study” anti-abortion natal narcs cooked up to try and prove that mifepristone is unsafe? We’re talking about the one that’s NOT peer reviewed, is only six pages long, AND has been denounced by 260+ expert researchers LOL. The ACLU is suing for information on this fake science report along with deets on their communications with anti-abobo orgs and politicians. 💊Why This Matters Let’s say it louder for the jabronis in the back: abortion healthcare deserves evidence, NOT questionable studies. The fugly truth? Even if this lawsuit goes well and the ACLU wins, other states will STILL be obsessed with undermining the FACTS that prove mifepristone is indeed STILL SAFE.
