I had to make that point clear. One time for EACH of the Congressional hearings held about defunding Planned Parenthood–SO FAR. Funds that changed hands for fetal tissue were for transport & handling from clinics to labs. Literal shipping & handling. There’s no Amazon Prime for fetal tissue.
Administrative costs are a real thing! People working in clinics and labs are not volunteers. There will be overhead. AND THAT’S OKAY! In fact, there’s been a law in effect since 1993 that allows for reimbursements for the costs associated with fetal tissue donations.
To avoid further drama from video-editing rabblerousers with a penchant for fetus fan fiction, Planned Parenthood has decided to absorb the costs associated with preserving & transferring fetal tissue.
The VP of PP, Eric Ferrero, addressed the reason they’ve made this decision. They want to “take away the smoke screen that anti-abortion activists are using to justify all these attacks, and in so doing lay bare their actual agenda. We have known all along this is not about fetal tissue,” he continued. “It’s about banning abortion in this country. We are essentially calling their bluff.”
