WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL WELL, Utah, congrats, you played yourself. 

Sometimes the whole “we just CARE about the patient, we CARE about them making the right decision for them, we CARE about them having all the options available to them” is just sooooo obviously fake that we can smell the bullshit a mile away. And that’s… the kinda stench we smell with any of these “you have to view and draw from memory the ultrasound” bills. 

BUT, J’ACCUSE, The Salt Lake City Tribune points out the OBVIOUS flaw in mandatory ultrasound bills. A flaw we should’ve really thought about EVERY TIME. Which is… who’s paying for these ultrasounds??? “We care so much about people getting abortions we want to… add another big expenditure even though it’s already cost prohibitive for a lot of people!”

So yes, normally people can get free ultrasounds upon request from the Department of Health. This new “see and hear a description of the ultrasound” bill says they CAN be CHARGED or….. WAIT FOR IT… go to a fake clinic for a free one.

So let’s imagine this. Let’s say you go in for a kidney removal to the doctor’s and they’re like “OK we could remove this but first you gotta go get an X-ray at a place that will tell you you DEFINITELY SHOULDN’T GET THIS REMOVED, but no worries just bring that X-Ray on back here and we’ll still remove it.” 

WHY ALL THE EFFING HOOPS?? Do you have any idea how effing annoying NORMAL healthcare is. I’ve had to call my health insurance and my doctor EVERY DAY THIS WEEK for ONE SHOT! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW EFFING ANNOYING IT IS TO GO TO ONE PLACE THEN ANOTHER PLACE THEN BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PLACE FOR ONE EFFING PROCEDURE????

The answer is, of course they know, but also, of course, we should be yelling about this. If not for the humanity of it, then for something we should all agree on: you shouldn’t be wasting people’s times!

The other law that just passed out of the Senate committee was one that makes it a FELONY to provide abortions. So… that’s dope. Seems like both of these together are… a waste… of time too.
