đź’Š The Mifepristone Hearing: Bad Faith, Live! Yeste đź’Š The Mifepristone Hearing: Bad Faith, Live!
Yesterday the nation was subjected to a conservative community theater performance of “Long Day’s Journey Into Misinformation.” For over two hours, anti-abortion lawmakers tried to drag the abortion pill through the mud, desperate to cast one of the safest, most studied drugs on earth as some sort of dangerous street drug. The performances were overacted, undersourced, and had one painfully obvious goal: banning the abortion pill for good.

🧺 Lowlights
Where to begin? The incessant, transphobic “Can men get pregnant?” questions, claims that adverse events are underreported, casting it as a tool for abusive men. This hearing was a culmination of YEARS of a coordinated anti-abortion campaign of lies on lies on lies on lies, and nobody is buying this shit except themselves.

🎭 All Drama, No Evidence
Remember: We have over 100 studies proving mifepristone is safe. And DECADES of worldwide use. The jabronis have nothing but their moral outrage and ability to project. They are FURIOUS we still have any access to it. So they will keep staging stunts and repeating lies until they can pull the curtain on abortion access for everyone.

🌴 South Carolina Gunning For Most Extreme Anti-Abo 🌴 South Carolina Gunning For Most Extreme Anti-Abortion State
Yesterday in The Palmetto State, a House Subcommittee heard two anti-abortion bills that would make it the most terrifying place in the country to have a uterus. One attempts to ELIMINATE abortion medication — this one advanced. The other would classify abortion as MURDER. They ran out of time before they could vote on this second bill, but it’s still very much on the table.

♻️ Wait, Haven’t They Tried This Before?
UH, YEAH. Last year, lawmakers had to retract their “abortion is homicide” bill after public outcry that people COULD BE PUT TO DEATH for abortion. Now… it’s back! Glad they took time to think about what they did just to come back and do it all over again.

🪟 Overton Window With A View of Hell
South Carolina won't stop introducing these anti-abortion bills and bans until they have completely normalized punishing pregnant people and valuing ideology over medicine. We’ll be watching these bills closely and, as always, wishing these lawmakers the day they deserve.

🗣️ARIZONANS WANT ABORTION ACCESS Remember when Ar 🗣️ARIZONANS WANT ABORTION ACCESS

Remember when Arizonans made it loud and clear that they wanted to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitution when they voted for it in 2024?! WELL, the pro-no-gressive politicians in the Grand Canyon State are still crying "abobo ban" and clinging onto the state's abortion restrictions for dear life. So, a pair of Arizona abortion providers and the Arizona Medical Association said, “hell to the no,” and sued.

⚖️What Laws Are They Challenging?

After the 2024 ballot measure passed, a judge permanently blocked Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban, because DUH. But plenty of BS laws are still hanging around: a 24-hour mandatory wait, forced ultrasounds, a telemedicine ban on abortion pills, and a ban on abortions for fetal abnormalities. NONE of this protects patients. All of it delays care and puts pregnant people's LIVES on the line. The cruelty is their only point.

❓Now What?

Newsflash to the Arizona legislature: the ballot box is NOT a suggestion box, babes. Judge Como heard closing arguments earlier this week and says he needs at least 30 days to rule. MMKAY. TLDR: voters clearly want abortion access, and the state STAYS dragging its feet. We’ll keep you posted on whether Arizona’s laws finally catch up with what the will of the people, or keep pretending they didn’t hear the voters' screams.

🤡 Louisiana Issues Extradition Order for Cali Abor 🤡 Louisiana Issues Extradition Order for Cali Abortion Provider

The Bayou State is playing Bodily Autonomy Bounty Hunter by threatening a California doc with up to 50 years of hard labor for prescribing abortion pills to someone in the state. Apparently, the AG is triggered as hell by their citizens getting healthcare.

🛡 Shield Laws To The Rescue

Don’t worry, this doc isn’t going anywhere.
Just like the NY provider that Texas tried to pull the same bullshit with, they are protected by “shield laws,” which tells anti-abortion AGs that they can (in legal terms) fuck off with their state-sponsored doctor drags.

🏚️ Doctor Hunting > Quality of Life, Apparently

Louisiana ranks dead last in education. Texas has a power grid on the brink of collapse. These meaningless orders from AGs are ONLY meant to intimidate doctors and bolster their own “pro-life” tough guy image. Because states with bans would rather TERRORIZE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS than improve their citizens' lives in any way.
