In honor of today’s Christopher Columbus Day (which still, weirdly, lol jk this country is a garbage hole, has not officially been changed to Indigenous People’s Day, but just know that is what we are celebrating) we are talking about HYPOCRISY TODAY!

We have a healthcare crisis in the United States. The number of people who have to fund their cancer treatment or surgery through GoFundMe should… frankly… shame us all.

BUT GUESS WHAT THE REAL ISSUE IS according to anti-choicers. Oh yes, the fear that one single of their precious earned dollars could somehow… the horror… go to someone else’s healthcare. Specifically, someone else’s abortion. The government has done so much to prevent this, it’s basically like you get a dollar every time someone has an abortion (so have fun spending those abortion dollars, you fucking haters). But still, still they complain. Look, we love complaining too, but you don’t have to be so frickin’ disingenuous about it. Take this quote where an opinion writer says that making a church pay for an insurance provider that provides healthcare is “taking money from the church’s offering plates and putting it in the hands of the abortion industry.” JESUS CHRIST! We say! If you are an employer providing healthcare… it is HORRIFIC that you would want to deny your employees part of their health insurance. This is like saying “this taking money from our collection plates to FUND SUSAN’S CANCER TREATMENT, DAMMIT SUSAN, THAT MONEY COULD’VE BEEN SPENT ON A NEW PEW!” On some level, they have to get that… right?

Like, on some level, they have to get that they are not actually “helping women” by making clinics have hospital admitting privileges. Like, we all have hospital admitting privileges, essentially, it’s “calling 911.” Forcing some kind of agreement between gynos and family doctors and hospitals… seems overly complicated. But they obviously are… not actually helping people with uteruses… they are trying to make the process more complicated.

So this is all to say, don’t be fucking fooled, people of Oregon! While we assume that anti-choicers are not smart enough to come up with a convincing campaign as to why Measure 106 is about TAXES (not denying people reproductive rights), we can’t put anything past them. And well, frankly, people have been fooled by a lot dumber shit recently.

Taxpayer money going towards healthcare is maybe ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TAXPAYER MONEY COULD GO TO! And education. Oh and FIXING THE ENVIRONMENT BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THE WORLD IS GONNA END IN 2040!
